This project was developed as my Master’s thesis at Trinity College Dublin as part of the M.Phil. in Digital Arts and Intermedia Practices. We were asked to develop a proposal for a project, product, or other creative intervention based on an area of our own research and interest.

I chose to explore how climate change is affecting Maine’s lobster industry and the coastal communities that depend on it. Through interviews with fishermen, researchers, and community members, I became particularly interested in how younger generations could engage with these changes in an accessible and meaningful way. This research led to a proposal for an experiential learning system combining a physical environmental sensor with an interactive game, allowing children to explore ocean conditions while learning about lobstering, climate change, and their local environment.

The links below include the full project portfolio, documenting the research and design process, and the accompanying Master’s thesis paper, which provides the complete research and context behind the proposal.
